I’m Emma. I’ve been playing with glass since I was 18, and it is by far the coolest thing I know how to do. I am lucky enough to live in sunny Boulder, CO and work in my studio/sanctuary at the Phoenix Asylum, an artist and makers co-op.
I primarily focus on borosilicate glass jewelry (similar to Pyrex) although I also work with various metals and beads. One of my favorite things about boro (aside from its dazzling beauty) is that it’s so durable – one of its many uses is the disposal of high-level radioactive waste (true story – Google “vitrification”). Which means many of my pieces will most likely be milling around the planet long after I have gone. I like that.
I do repairs, teach private classes, and enjoy working with people to create custom orders. I also love to collaborate with other artists/crafters – if you have an idea, please contact me!
My other passions include music, music, and more music – playing it, listening to it, seeing it live, creating it, and DJing. I’m kind of obsessed. I also love travel, photography, art, non-militant vegetarianism, sunny optimism, and the movie Anchorman. Thanks for stopping by.
